       With this Flank Defense
       is clearly engaged: the
       Battle For The Center

       By playing 2.c4
       White contests to
       Black the Control
       of the d5-square

       After 3.Nc3 both
       squares d5 and e4
       are disputed between
       White and Black

       The Nimzo-Indian
       Defense is characterized
       by the Pin Move 3...Bb4

       In this position
       White dominate on
       Light squares and
       Black on Dark squares

       John decides to
       activate the White
       Queen's Bishop by
       playing 6.Bf4

       A careful observation
       of squares controlled
       by Black helps you
       to understand what
       could occur now

    Mary begins to play
       a fine combination
       with 7...Bxf2+!

    The Developing Move
       10...Nbc6 assures a
       good protection of
       the Pinned e5-Knight

        But, by playing
       11.Nf3! John reinforces
       his attack against
       the Pinned e5-Knight

     After 11...0-0! Black
       is able to protect
       a second time the
       Unpinned e5-Knight
       by playing 12...Re8

The game goes on
       rather naturally
