Teimour Radjabov, also spelled Teymur Rajabov was born on March 12, 1987 in Baku, Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic, USSR. Taimour is a leading Azerbaijani chess player remarkable for his precocity; thus from July 2005 to October 2007 Radjabob held permanently the first place in the Junior FIDE-ratings list. Teimour Radjabov is also the youngest player to enter the top 100 in history... Especially he won the World Junior-ch U10 (Rimavska Sobota 1996), U12 (Oropesa del Mar 1998), European Junior-ch U10 (Tallinn 1997), U12 (Murek 1998), U18 (Litohoto 1999), Moscow Kasparov Cup (1998), Kaparov GP (Internet 2000), FSGM December (cat. VIII, Budapest 2000)
«Corus 2007, Radjabov and Tiviakov at the start Teimour Radjabov was 2nd at the Corus Chess Tournament GM-B (Wijk aan Zee 2001), In the Najdorf Memorial (cat. XIV, Buenos Aires 2001) Radjabov reached the third place, behind Anatoly Karpov and Victor Korchnoi. In 2003, Radjabov defeated Viswanathan Anand and Ruslan Ponomariov with the black pieces. Radjabov reached the semi-finals (earning a bronze medal) at the FIDE World Chess Championship 2004. On February 22, 2006, Teimour defeated FIDE World Champion Veselin Topalov (rated 2801) with the black pieces and subsequently won the second prize at the Super GM Tournament held in Morelia, Mexico and Linares, Spain. In January 2007, Radjabov finished in joint first place at the Category 19 Corus Chess Tournament along with Veselin Topalov and Levon Aronian. In January 2008, at Corus Chess Group A, Wijk an Zee (NED) Teimour Radjabov reached the 4th place, at only a half-point of Levon Aronian the winner. Since April 2007, Teimour Radjabov is permanently in the FIDE-Ratings TOP 10 (7-8th in 2007 and 2008). With a Rating of 2761, in the FIDE-ratings list of January 2009, Radjabov is currently number 6 in the world and the fourth best ranked player taking part in the Corus Chess 2009.
