CHESS PRACTICE
- PRESENTATION -
Contrarily
to the other parts of Chess-Theory web site, we haven'ta clear idea
concerning the organization of the following pages.
It's better this way because we want to stay widely open at all
interesting opportunity, all unforeseeable evolution in chess
topicality, all contributions coming from everyone interested by
various Chess news items... and much more!
But,
nevertheless, rich and miscellaneous matter, you'll find soon in
the present pages, must respect a certain unity and, like we hope,
it'll become clearly integrated into the general Chess-Theory
project.
Now
it's a great pleasure for us to present you friends, both very good
correspondence chess players, AJEC (French Chess Correspondence
Association) members and equally engaged in ICCF international
competitions!
Pierre Ruiz-Vidal has a great ability in all fields concerning
printing, typesetting and edition. I am unable to enumerate here
all his realisations, but we point out he was, for many years,
chief editor of the CDE (AJEC monthly magazine).
On
another respect, Pierre Ruiz-Vidal is a fine and experimented
commentator of great current Chess events. Now it's not necessary
carrying on with this short presentation ; actually you'll discover
him very much through columns he'll write onto our site!...
My
other friend is also a strong personality and frankly it's not easy
to describe in a few lines all his charactetics. But it's suitable
focusing one's attention on some particular aspects.
IM (CC) Eric Ruch is an official in both AJEC and ICCF associations.
He travels a lot for his job and all his activities ; notice
consequently his great international experience!
But
another exciting aspect is that Eric Ruch his engaged, since some
years, in deep and significant researches in varied Chess History areas,
has already published many interesting articles and may be recognized
today as a great specialist of Chess History... You'll read soon, in
"Chess Practice" pages, some of his works.
Welcome
Pierre and Eric, onto Chess-Theory web site!...Oh! But we're
forgetting another friend, who nevertheless is a rather dear one, and
somebody among you certainly knows him already...
We mean: "Le SRIBE"... But being rather reserved and discrete in
nature he don't like at all people speak about him, also we'll
respect his wish.
Finally
let us inform you that the beautiful chess set and pieces you can
see on photographs illustrating this page and many other "Chess
Practice" pages, is a precious gift we received from our mathematical
students in "Maitrise de Mathematiques Pures", at the
Champagne-Ardennes Univertity (Reims, France), when we retired...
It's for us a stirring memory!...
