«Jean Chanoir : petite notice biographique
Né en 1955 à Clamart , Jean Chanoir est
un autodidacte. Son aventure picturale a
commencé il y a quelque 20 ans, période
où il trouve son style : art brut ,
figuration libre, naïf ou singulier
comme on voudra. Gardien de nuit érudit,
il peint durant ses heures de labeur
solitaire, perdu au sein d'immenses
sites industriels. La nuit, en ces
lieux vides et silencieux, son
imagination tendre et ironique
s'évade, vagabonde et rêve à loisir.
Ainsi la vacuité prend sens, et
c'est l'humanité et ses grands
mythes un brin recréés qu'il
réinvente, dessine, colore...
C'est ainsi qu'après nous avoir
livré un spectaculaire " Martyre
de Saint Glinglin ", de multiples
" Annonciations ", il nous a
livré l'unique version de la
Vraie vie de Sainte Nitouche...»
