The Alatorsev-Capablanca System [D53-b5*] to [D53-z5*]. The main continuation is: 5...0-0 (see lower)

[ 5.Nf3 X10 Nbd7 X11 is the basic position of the Stahlberg-Espina System [D53-o**] to [D53-n***]. ( Evidently it is tempting for Black to question immediately the White Bishop: 5...h6 X12 This is the start point of the Kaufman-Guex System [D53-o***] to [D53-p4*]. A typical line is: 6.Bh4 X13 Nbd7 X14 7.e3 X15 c6 X16 8.Bd3 This position is always frequently encounter and leads many often to decisive results. In spite of the White advantage, Black may be the winner.

X17 A recent game is: 8...0-0 X18 9.0-0 X19 dxc4 X20 10.Bxc4 X21 b5 X22 11.Bd3 X23 Bb7 X24 12.a3 X25 a5 X26 13.Rc1 X27 b4 X28 14.axb4 X29 axb4 X30 15.Bxf6 X31 Bxf6 X32 16.Ne4= X33 Bacrot, Etienne (2718), Kekki, Petri (2378) D60 (30) 1-0, EUCup 20th Izmir, 2004. ;

Finally Black may pitch on castling right (short Castle): 5...0-0 X34 It' s the Pachman-Radashkovich System: [D53-q4*] to [D53-a5*] with the suite: 6.Qc2 X35 h6 X36 7.Bxf6 X37 Bxf6 X38 8.0-0-0= X39 The exemplary game continues this way: 8...c6 X40 9.e3 X41 Nd7 X42 10.h4 X43 g6 X44 11.h5 X45 g5 X46 12.e4 X47 Qa5?! X48 13.Kb1 X49 Rd8 X50 14.cxd5 X51 cxd5 X52 15.exd5 X53 Nf8 X54 16.d6! X55 Bd7 X56 17.Nd2 X57 Pachman, Ludek - Radashkovich, Itchak D55 (42) 1-0, Netanya, 1975. ) Usually, this opening continues as follow: 6.e3 X58 h6 X59 With WSIA: White Significant Advantage. 7.Bh4 X60 ( A good alternative is: 7.Bf4 X61 like you may see in the interesting following game: 7...0-0 X62 8.Qb3 X63 c6 X64 9.h3 X65 Nb6 X66 10.c5 X67 Nbd7 X68 11.Qa4 X69 Ne4 X70 12.Nxe4 X71 dxe4 X72 13.Nd2 X73 e5 X74 14.Bxe5 X75 Nxe5 X76 15.dxe5 X77 Bf5= X78 Volkov, Sergey - Gaprindashvili, Nona D53 (28) 1/2-1/2, Groningen op, 1998. ) 7...Ne4 X79 [D53-m***] ( It is also possible to play: 7...b6 X80 [D53-l***] like in the game: 8.Be2 X81 Bb7 X82 9.0-0 X83 0-0 X84 10.a3 X85 a5 X86 11.Rc1 X87 Rc8 X88 12.cxd5 X89 Nxd5 X90 13.Nxd5 X91 Bxd5 X92 14.Bxe7 X93 Qxe7 X94 15.Nd2= X95 Kokhanovsky, Maxim - Koshel, Maxim D58 (53) 0-1, UKR-ch sf U14, 2003 ) 8.Bxe7 X96 Qxe7 X97 9.Rc1 X98 A natural continuation in view to exploit the open-file c [D53-n***].]

5...0-0 X99

[ 5...Nc6?! X100 This classical move is doubtful, like we explain in our first D53-Technical Report. 6.Nf3 X101 FNBF: Four Knights Basic Formation [D53-a6*] to [D53-j6*] with WSIA: White Significant Advantage.]

6.cxd5 X102 Nxd5 X103 7.Bxe7 X104 Qxe7 X105 8.Nf3 X106 Nxc3 X107 9.bxc3

In this position (Quasi-Pure D53-Opening) White has certainly an advantage, but we point out that, since many years, any player of a good level opts for this formation, in particular with Black.

X108 Possible now is:
