(Annotation: "Chess-Theory")

X0 1.d4 X1 d5 X2 2.f4 X3 Bf5 X4 3.Nf3 X5 Nf6 X6

ECB (ECO Codes Base) Classification: [D00-k] (with permuted moves: 2...Bf5 3.Nf3 Nf6 instead of 2.Nf6 3.Nf3 Bf5).

4.e3 X7 e6 X8 5.Bd3

This line is a D00-Totally Pure Opening (TPOP:). It is practised regularly since the game Ware, Preston - Mason, James D00 (55) 0-1, Vienna, 1882.

It is interesting to notice that this line is globally favorable to Black. Perhaps because he has the possibility to exchange his "bad" Bishop against the White "good" one... But also certainly allowing that Black has traditionally developed a stronger game in this direction.

X9 5...Bxd3! X10

This direct exchange is a relatively new idea (1988) and seems clearly favorable to Black.

6.Qxd3 X11 Nbd7 X12 7.0-0 X13 c5 X14

Another example of the Delayed Tarrasch Lever (DTLV:).

8.c3 X15 Be7 X16 9.Nbd2 X17

10...cxd4 X56 11.exd4 X57 Bd6 X58 12.Ne5 X59

A Thematic Move (THMO:) in such a position. The game is rather equal.

[ It is also possible to play: 12.f5 X60 Re8 X61 13.fxe6 X62 Rxe6 X63 14.c4 X64 Qc7 X65 =]

12...Ne8 X66 13.Ndf3 X67 Ndf6 X68 14.f5 X69 Ne4 X70 15.fxe6 X71 fxe6 X72 16.Be3 X73 N8f6 X74 17.Bg5 X75 Qc7 X76

An instructive example of Pawn-Figure Complex (PFC:); always with equality.

18.Bxf6 X77 Rxf6 X78 19.Ng4 X79 Rf7 X80

[ Can be considered: 19...Rf4 X81 20.Nf2 X82 Qf7 X83 21.Nh3 X84 Rf6= X85 ]

20.Nfe5?? X86

In this equilibrate game White falls in a typical Trap (TRAP:): a Knight Fork (NFOR:)!

[ Accurate is: 20.Nf2 X87 Nxf2+ X88 21.Rxf2 X89 Rf6 X90 22.Raf1= X91 again with equality.]

20...Bxe5! X92 21.Nxe5 X93 Nf2+ X94 22.Rxf2 X95 Rxf2 X96 23.Qh3 X97 Qe7 X98 24.Nd3 X99 Rf6 X100 25.Re1 X101 Raf8 X102 26.g3 X103 Qf7 X104

Typical Tripling Major Pieces (TMP:) on the open f-file.

27.Kg1 X105 Rh6?! X106

[ Black maintains a strong advantage by playing: 27...Qg6 X107 28.Re3 X108 Rf3 X109 29.Rxf3 X110 Rxf3 X111 30.Ne1 X112 Rf7 X113 31.Qg2 X114 Qb1 X115 32.Qe2 X116 Qxa2 X117 -+]

28.Qg2 X118 Qf3? X119 29.Qxf3 X120 Rxf3 X121 30.Nf4 X122 g5 X123 31.Kg2 X124 g4 X125 32.h3 X126 Rxf4 X127 33.gxf4 X128 gxh3+ X129 34.Kh2 X130 Kf7 X131 35.Re3 X132 Kf6 X133 36.Rxh3 X134 Rxh3+ X135 37.Kxh3 X136 Kf5 X137 38.Kg3 X138 b5 X139 39.Kf3 X140 a5

Obviously Black has a winning endgame. Globally it was a positional game of a good level.

0-1
