ECHECS CONTRE L’ECHEC»
A Chess event organized by l’Association Emmaüs and the Ligue
Ile-de-France des Echecs in the "Salon de l’éducation", on
saterday, november 20, 2004

"L’Association Emmaüs" and the "Ligue Ile-de-France des Echecs"
organize four simoultaneous chess games given by four Grandmasters:
Marie Sebag, Europe Champion;
Alberto David, Gold medal winner at the Olympiads ; Andreï
Schekachev, and Eloi Relange.
This event will take place, in the presence of "l’abbé Pierre", on
saturday, november 20, between 13h and 17h, in the "Salon de
l’éducation" (organized by the "Ligue de l’enseignement"), métro Porte
de Versailles, Hall 7.2, in the "Cité de l’Education", in Paris
(France). It's open for everyone.
On a total de 100 players, some places are reserved to people taken in
in centers of the "Association Emmaüs". The other places are opened to
other chess players (adults or children of all level) wishing to play
against a Grandmaster !
Registration will take place near the IDF Chess League before
novembre 18 : by phone from Monday to Wednesday between 14h and 16h:
01.40.24.02.06 or by mail : ligueidf@club-internet.fr.
Pre-registered persons will beneficit by a free entrance in the "Salon
de l’Education".
"La pratique du jeu d’échecs est courante dans les centres d’accueil
de l’Association Emmaüs, particulièrement depuis quelques années où le
public est composé de personnes originaires des pays de l’Est".
"Cette manifestation à caractère ludique favorisera la rencontre du
grand public et des personnes en difficulté sociale, dans un contexte
où chacun peut facilement trouver sa place, oubliant pour un temps le
statut social des uns et des autres".
More, this afternoon heading «Les Echecs contre l’échec» is in a
perfect appropriateness wih the objectives of the IDF Chess League,
which is promotion of the Chess Game near new audiences.
