«1/27/2007 Yale Chess Wins Ivy Championship!
In the 2007 CHYC Ivy Tournament (Columbia-Harvard-Yale-Cornell), Yale went undefeated,
with a score of 2.5 out of 3 matches. It was the third time we played Harvard this year
(Harvard won 3-2 in November and we tied at Pan-Ams), and we finally defeated them, 3-2.
We also outplayed Columbia, 3-2, and tied Cornell. Sam Kahn (PC '08), who won all three of
his matches on the fifth board, was named team MVP. This tournament was the first time in
recent history (and possibly the first time ever) among these four Ivies.»
3. «Connecticut - Technical High School - Chess Club»
«On Friday, March 24th, the chess team from Kaynor Tech won the annual Players Cup
competition at Middlesex Community College in Middletown, Connecticut. This was quite an
accomplishment since it was also the first time that Kaynor has competed in the event.
Teams of students from Tech schools across the state compete in this annual event to
determine who are the kings of chess. Kaynor narrowly beat last year's champions Wilcox
Tech in the final round of the day. Congratulations to Coach Riddick and your team!»
