Wait and See: Means like: wiating move (Chess Terminology). A Waiting Move is an intermediate move forcing the opponent to play, when this one has any good move at his disposal (Chess Terminology - NCT VI - "Chess move classification"). A Weak Pawn is a pawn difficult, even impossible, to protect and easily open to attacks from the other side Weak pawns like: double pawns, isolated pawn, backward pawn, hanging pawns etc... are typical weakness in a position and we have to be vigilant about all weakening of both (White & Black) pawn structures. On our side, to avoid attacks from the opponent, and in the enemy camp for precisely attacking them. (Classical Chess Theory - NCT XI - "Chess pawn structure II"). A Weak Square for a side is a strong square for the opponent (Current Chess Theory - Chess Terminology). A White (Black) Weak Square is a Black (White) Strong Square (Current Chess Theory - Chess Terminology). White (Black) has a Weak Pawn Structure if this one ows some weaknesses (Current & New Chess Theory - NCT XI - "Chess pawn structure II"). Weakness: Any pawn or square that is difficult to defend. Typical weakness are: (Current & New Chess Theory - NCT XI - "Chess pawn structure II"). We emphasise the concept of weakness, referring to concret situations, by gladly using the expression Significant Weakness, particularly in Chess-Theory Analysis!... One finds an example in the game:
Fuchs, Thomas (2080) - Halay, Taufik [A43-w7*] HZ op Vlissingen (9),
2005 - Chess-Theory Analyzed Game No 066 After: 14...Nxa6
The backward pawn b2 is for White a significant weakness; but, nevertheless White owns some interesting compensations and finally has a better play than Black. (Current and New Chess Theory - NCT XI - "Chess pawn structure II"). White (Black) Weakness: A weakness related to the White (Black) pawn structure. (Current and New Chess Theory - NCT XI - "Chess pawn structure II"). Sometimes we may observe, what is especially significative along the Deep Middle Game (DEMG:), that a side (both sides) is (are) Whithout Weakness. For example, let us see at the game:
Leko, Peter (2763) - Topalov, Veselin [B90-y4*] WCH-FIDE San Luis ARG
(1), 2005 - Chess-Theory Analyzed Game No 021 . During the Deep
Middle Game (DEMG:), after:
21.Bg3 Rc8
it is easy to observe that Black pawn structure is without weakness. As to White, the single weakness of their pawn structure is represented by the backward c2-pawn, located on an open file controlled by Black. (Current and New Chess Theory - NCT IV - "Unfolding of game" - NCT XI - "Chess pawn structure II"). WGM: International Woman Grandmaster (Chess Practice). Whisper: A Chess player of limited skill (Chess Practice). White: One of both sides in a Chess game; White has to play first at the beginning of the game. (Chess Terminology - Chess Rule). A Wild Position is an extremely complicated and unclear position, with rather unfathomable consequences (Chess Terminology - Classical Chess Theory). To Win: For a side, one of three possible results of a chess game. When a chess game ends with the victory of one side: (Chess Practice - Chess Rule). Wing: means flank. Precisely by wings of the board one means both sides of the chessboard: (Chess Terminology - NCT II - "Chessboard geometry"). Winner: Those of both players who wins the game (Chess Terminology). Winning a game of chess is the victory in this game (Chess Terminology). Winning Position: A position that it is reasonable to judge sufficient advantageous for a camp to ensure to it the winning of the game, obviously except error on its part (Chess Terminology). Winning Chances: At each moment in a game a player may be tempted to envisage and weigh up his chances to win the game... It is quite natural ... but his judgment runs the risk to be first subjective and not totally lucid (Chess Terminology - Chess Practice). Woodpusher: A bad player (also named: patzer, duffer) (Chess Practice). «This is the new location of the World Chess Hall of Fame in Miami, Florida at Southwest 140th Street and 119th Avenue, located on the Florida Turnpike where 150,000 cars pass by every day. The building will be 30,000 square feet with 5,000 square feet dedicated to the World Chess Hall of Fame and Sidney Samole Museum. progressively, in his BLOG, some interesting contributions closely
